Dr. Arafat Tfayli

Dr. Arafat Tfayli is the chief of Hematology/Oncology at the American University of Beirut Medical Center in Beirut, Lebanon. He received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut in 1995 and completed his Internal Medicine training at State University of New York at Stony Brook University Hospital and his Hematology/Oncology training at the Lombardi Cancer Center, Georgetown University. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. He is also the Director of collaborations at the Naek K Basile Cancer Institute, AUB.

Dr. Tfayli has participated in multiple investigator-initiated trials as well as cooperative group and pharmaceutically-sponsored studies. His main areas of interest are lung and breast cancer. He is a reviewer for several international scientific journals and a member of the Editorial Board of others.

He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers and has participated in drafting cancer treatment guidelines in Lebanon. He is the recipient of multiple awards including several teaching and patient satisfaction awards.
