Dr. Asrar Alahmadi

Dr. Asrar Alahmadi is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at The Ohio State University and a medical oncologist at the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital, specializing in thoracic malignancies, including non-small cell lung cancer, small cell lung cancer, thymoma, and mesothelioma.

She earned her medical degree from King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Alahmadi completed her internal medicine residency and hematology-oncology fellowship at University Hospitals – Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She also holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Research from the University of California, San Diego.

Dr. Alahmadi is a clinical investigator with a focus on early-phase drug development, biomarker-driven clinical trials, and addressing healthcare disparities. She has led multiple investigator-initiated and cooperative group trials and serves as principal investigator on a first-in-human trial of a DHODH inhibitor developed at Ohio State.

Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Cancer, Molecular Cancer Therapeutics, Clinical Lung Cancer, and the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

Dr. Alahmadi is an active member of national and international oncology committees and has participated in the ASCO-AACR Methods in Clinical Cancer Research (MCCR) workshop.
