Dr. Hassan Jaafar

Dr. Hassan Jaafar is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at Burjeel Medical City, Abu Dhabi, with over 25 years of experience in oncology. He earned his MBChB from Al-Mustansiriya University (Iraq) and completed his Internal Medicine residency and Hematology-Oncology fellowship at the American University of Beirut Medical Center.

Dr. Jaafar previously served at Tawam Hospital, a Johns Hopkins-affiliated tertiary center, and as Adjunct Assistant Professor at UAE University. He also worked at Sheikh Khalifa Specialty Hospital before joining Burjeel.

His clinical focus includes breast, gynecologic, lung, colorectal cancers, and sarcomas. He has authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications and is an active member of ASCO, ESMO, and regional oncology groups, including ACHOG and AMCI.

He is an active member of several professional societies, including the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the UAE Oncology and Radiation Therapy Association, and the Lebanese Hematology Oncology Association. Dr. Jaafar also serves on the Scientific and Education Committee of the Arab Collaborative Hematology and Oncology Group (ACHOG) and is involved with the MENA NCCN HCC and Lung Cancer Groups, the GIST Working Group, and the Africa Middle East Cancer Research Intergroup (AMCI).
