Professor and Consultant – Hematology & Medical Oncology
Dr. Mohsen Mokhtar is a Professor of Clinical Oncology at Cairo University’s Kasr El Aini Medical School and serves as the Managing Director of the Cairo University Center of Oncology and Nuclear Medicine (NEMROCK).
He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (B.Sc.) in 1991, followed by a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Clinical Oncology in 1996, and completed his Doctorate (M.D.) in Clinical Oncology in 2001, all from Cairo University.
Dr. Mokhtar has been instrumental in developing the clinical oncology curriculum at Cairo University and has supervised numerous research programs and theses. His clinical and research interests encompass breast, lung, gynecologic, and hematologic malignancies.
He has authored over 50 publications in regional and international journals and actively participates in clinical trials, both regionally and internationally. Dr. Mokhtar is a frequent speaker at conferences, including PAN ARAB and EURO-Mediterranean events, and serves as a scientific coordinator for various oncology conferences.
Dr. Mokhtar holds memberships in several professional societies, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the Egyptian Cancer Society (ECS), the Egyptian Hemato-Oncology Group (EHOG), and the Arab Medical Association Against Cancer (AMAAC). He is also the President of CANSURVIVE, an NGO dedicated to cancer patient support.
