Professor and Consultant – Hematology & Medical Oncology
Dr. Ola Khorshid is a Professor and Chair of the Medical Oncology Department at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Cairo University, specializing in malignant hematology and bone marrow transplantation. She is also the president of the Oncothoracic International Association.
She earned her Master’s degree in 1998 and PhD in 2004 in medical oncology and hematological malignancies from NCI Cairo University. In 2002, she trained at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, as a postdoctoral fellow in the Blood and Marrow Transplantation Department.
Dr. Khorshid is the founder and chairperson of Millennium HealthCare and co-founder of the Orchid Oncology Center. She also chairs the Onco-thoracic International Clinical Association (OnTiC) and serves as Secretary General of the Mediterranean Multidisciplinary Oncology Forum (MMOF).
She developed the medical oncology curriculum for Egypt’s Fellowship Board in 2008 and serves as an examiner for Master’s and PhD degrees in medical oncology at Cairo University, as well as for the Kenyan oncology board.
Dr. Khorshid is an assistant editor of the Mediterranean Oncology Journal and has numerous international publications focusing on lung, genitourinary, breast, gastrointestinal malignancies, lymphoma, leukemia, and bone marrow transplantation.
She is ESMO certified since 2006 and has been recognized with the Cairo University Achievement Award in 2011.
