President of LCAM Arabic - Professor and Consultant – Hematology & Medical Oncology
Dr. Taher Abu Hejleh is a Professor of Internal Medicine and a Consultant in Hematology and Medical Oncology. He has extensive expertise in the management of lung cancer. He earned his medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology. He completed residency in Internal Medicine, Fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology, and a Masters degree in clinical investigation at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in the United States.
He served as a Thoracic Oncologist at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where he led the Thoracic Oncology Group and participated in numerous clinical trials. He also held the role of Associate Director for Clinical Services at the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. In Jordan, Dr. Abu Hejleh joined the King Hussein Cancer Center, where he led the Thoracic Oncology Group and served as Chairperson of the Research Council.
He has been actively involved in education through teaching and mentoring medical students, residents, and oncology fellows. He is deeply committed to improving lung cancer care and research across the MENA region. He is currently practicing Hematology and Medical Oncology at Abdali Hospital in Jordan. He is a member of many regional and global lung cancer organizations including ASCO, ESMO and IALSC. Dr. Abu Hejleh is the founder and inaugural president of LCAM Arabic.
