LCAM Arabic is a professional alliance of physicians, researchers, and healthcare advocates dedicated to improving lung cancer care across the Arabic-speaking MENA region. Founded in 2024, the initiative began as a grassroots effort to foster collaboration, share expertise, and address regional challenges in lung cancer diagnosis, treatment, education and research. LCAM Arabic aspires to grow into a dynamic network that connects specialists from across the region and beyond, engaging in clinical discussions, collaborative studies, educational initiatives, and global partnerships. Our mission is to harmonize standards of care, promote impactful research, and represent the voice of the Arab world in the global fight against lung cancer.
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the LCAM Arabic website—a platform born out of a collective vision to transform lung cancer care across the Arabic-speaking world.
Lung cancer remains one of the most significant health challenges in our region. Despite remarkable global advancements, disparities in access to care, early detection, molecular testing, and research opportunities persist in many MENA countries. LCAM Arabic was established to bridge that gap—by uniting clinicians, researchers, policy leaders, and patient advocates under a shared goal: to advance equitable, evidence-based, and patient-centered care, as well as to promote research, education, and capacity-building in the field of Lung Cancer across the Arabic region.”
As President of LCAM Arabic, I am deeply honored to work alongside a growing network of passionate professionals who bring expertise, empathy, and a drive for change. Together, we are building research collaborations, supporting education and awareness efforts, and amplifying the voices of our region on the global stage.
This platform is more than a resource hub—it is a symbol of hope, partnership, and progress. Whether you are a clinician looking for guidelines, a researcher seeking collaboration, or a patient advocate fighting for better care, you are part of this journey.
Thank you for your dedication to improving outcomes in lung cancer. I invite you to explore, engage, and contribute to our shared mission. The future of lung cancer care in the Arab world will be shaped by initiatives such as LCAM Arabic—and together, we are already making an impact.

As LCAM Arabic launches its operations, its work is organized through five foundational committees. Each committee plays a critical role in fulfilling the organization’s mission of improving lung cancer care, education, research, and collaboration across the Arabic-speaking countries in the MENA region.
The Steering Committee serves as the central leadership body of LCAM Arabic. It provides strategic direction, ensures the alignment of all initiatives with the organization’s core values, and monitors overall performance and impact.
The committee sets organizational goals, approves major programs, and guides collaboration with regional and international stakeholders. It also plays a vital role in shaping LCAM’s long-term vision and sustainability plan.
This committee is tasked with developing, updating, and disseminating clinical practice guidelines that reflect both global evidence and regional realities. It works to harmonize standards of care across diverse healthcare settings in the MENA region, addressing diagnostic pathways, treatment protocols, multidisciplinary care models, and survivorship programs. The committee engages clinicians across the region to ensure the guidelines are practical, accessible, and widely adopted.
Dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge and research collaboration, this committee plays a key role in identifying research priorities, supporting investigator-led studies, and promoting participation in clinical trials. It facilitates multicenter collaborations, builds capacity for data collection and analysis, and supports manuscript development and publication. The committee also explores partnerships with global research networks to integrate the region into the international lung cancer research community.
The Educational Committee is committed to building knowledge and raising awareness through high-quality educational programs. It develops and delivers content for healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and the public. Activities include lung cancer conferences, professional webinars, in-person workshops, continuing medical education (CME) programs, awareness campaigns, and the creation of culturally appropriate educational materials in Arabic.
The Membership Committee is responsible for growing and engaging LCAM’s diverse network of members across the region. It facilitates onboarding, fosters a sense of community, and ensures that members are meaningfully involved in LCAM’s initiatives. The committee also organizes networking events, highlights member achievements, and works to ensure multidisciplinary and geographic representation. It plays an essential role in making LCAM a vibrant, inclusive, and collaborative professional community.
LCAM Arabic began as a simple yet powerful idea shared by a few dedicated medical oncologists from Arabic-speaking countries across the MENA region. Recognizing the urgent need to harmonize and elevate lung cancer care in the region, they created a WhatsApp group in May 2024 to connect lung cancer specialists from across the Arab world. What started as informal discussions quickly evolved into a vibrant and growing community. Members began sharing challenging clinical cases, discussing the latest research and publications, and connecting during regional and international conferences. As momentum built, the group expanded to include hundreds of members representing nearly every country in the LCAM region. To guide this growing movement, a Steering Committee was established. The group soon took the next step by developing this official website and initiating the process of formally registering LCAM Arabic as a recognized organization.
At the same time, LCAM began building strategic relationships with global lung cancer societies, reflecting our shared vision of integrating international collaboration with regional leadership.LCAM Arabic has quickly attracted attention from national and regional stakeholders who share our commitment to improving lung cancer outcomes. Our ultimate vision is to become a leading force in lung cancer care across the Arabic-speaking MENA region—bringing together a professional community that represents over 400 million people in a region where lung cancer continues to pose a major health burden. We are proud of how far we’ve come in such a short time—and we warmly invite you to be part of the LCAM Arabic journey as we continue to grow, collaborate, and lead.
” Welcome to LCAM Arabic — uniting experts across the Arabic Speaking Countries in MENA to advance Lung Cancer care, research, and education.”
